Step-by-step guide
Air France also sells its seats through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, often for far fewer miles than with Flying Blue. The ticket issued is a real Air France ticket, in your name, on the same seat. One rule: you need Virgin Atlantic points, not Flying Blue miles.
Before ordering, search your flight on seats.aero filtering the "Virgin Atlantic" program, or with Virgin's Reward Seat Checker. Note the date, the Air France flight and the exact number of points required. Credited points are non-refundable: check first.
Sign up on virginatlantic.com. You get a Flying Club membership number: your points will be credited to this account. The name must match your passport exactly.
Virgin Atlantic points are available through your Air Avenue concierge: send us your request with the flight found and your membership number, and we'll tell you the best solution. For the other programs in our catalog, order your miles directly in your account.
Log in on virginatlantic.com, open the flight search and choose "Search for Reward Flights" (pay with points). Enter the route, date, cabin (Business or First) and number of passengers.
In the results, select the flight marked "Operated by Air France". The points are deducted and you only pay taxes and fees by card.
You receive a Virgin Atlantic confirmation with an Air France booking reference. Enter it under "My bookings" on airfrance.com to choose your seat, add your loyalty card and check in.
